A Modest Start

StarFight: Beginning of the End was the first ever released StarFight title. It was a rather poor attempt of creating a cinematic multi-genre game. There were only one very short 3rd person perspective adventure section, and five action levels. All events on the levels were hard-coded, and even though enemies, gameplay and hazards were different in every level, the game was very short. To top these flaws off, the quality of graphics and sound were really horrible.

Even though SF1 was technically a very, very crude game, and by no means a good or even enjoyable one, it started a long-going series, and thus paved way for several much more refined titles.

The Sequel

The sequel, StarFight II was a very, very fast paced SF5-like arcade shooter. The game had a 20 level military campaign with cinematic story, a seperate arcade duel mode, and above all, the gameplay was amazingly fluid. Unfortunately SF2 has been forever lost. It was never released due to fact that it did not run stable on most systems. This game brought JP-Production experience on how to build a game with an actual engine, rather than hard-coding every event. Thus SF2 is a very important title in the series
